The ideas for the software on this site are Philip Whittaker's. He was ICT Support Teacher for Inclusion in the Scottish Borders. Now retired, he was the chairman of the Doorway Accessible Software Trust that managed this site and developed new activities for it.
Doorway has since been transfered over to CALL Scotland at the University of Edinburgh.
The original Doorway activities were first implemented on Acorn RISC OS Computers in the early 1990s by Andrew Burt and Philip Whittaker, using the Doorway Multimedia development system created by Roger Spooner and Andrew Burt.
